I’d had a note to visit West Dean Gardens stored away for a while. I got close earlier in the year when a friend and I walked the Centurion Way ending up at West Dean. I’d also noted that it was dog-friendly.

So we got to visit as a full family outing, Breezy included. It was a lovely place. It felt really calm. We were tempted by the arboretum, but the open spaces to get there would be too hot and exciting for Breezy, so we parked that idea for another visit. Perhaps later in the year when the winterbourne stream is flowing or the trees are changing colour?

We enjoyed our walk around the gardens, and Breezy was delighted to see a free-range chicken near the greenhouses! (not pictured)
