While we were waiting at West Dean for the bus back to Chichester, I took a look at the bus times display. I originally just wanted to see how long we had to wait, but then I had to look again to admire the technology.

I suddenly realized it was an e-ink display. What a great idea for a low-power screen. Not only was it really clear to read in the daylight, but it must make the displays so much easier to host. Presumably there is no need for a permanent power supply if the screen only needs a bit of energy when polling and updating the times.
