An excellent book, well organised into themed chapters. Some of the studies mentioned were ones that I’d come across in other reading on the theme of nature, some were new to me.

A couple of years ago I realised that nature is where I find my sense of awe, of wonder, of spirituality. During the various lockdowns I’ve appreciated my local nature, the small wonders, immensely - the sound of the sparrows in my garden (now frequent visitors due to the food we’ve put out for them), the occasional urban fox sighting, the squirrels in the local parks.

Learning how my brain responds to nature has been fascinating.
