My friend and I found ourselves in the area, so we decided to visit Ashridge Estate. It’s a huge place with lots of well-marked walks. A helpful volunteer at the Visitor Centre talked us through the options, which got us pointed in the right direction

We also climbed the 172 steps up to the top of the Bridgewater monument. It was worth the climb for the views.
