I thought I’d love this book. But it didn’t turn out quite that way. It is well written, and the premise is one I generally enjoy - following characters over many years, watching them and their relationships change. But I didn’t really care about the characters. I felt quite passive reading it. I wasn’t engaged or involved. And that felt like a shame.
