It felt like ages since I’d been to Nymans, so when a friend suggested it, I figured it was time to address that.

I particularly enjoyed the Rose Garden. They’ve de-rosed it for now while they work on improving the soil. According to the National Trust,

Over the last few years there’s been a marked decline in the health of the rose bushes. We carried out extensive research with specialists, concluding that the decline was due to an aging rose collection, poor soil health, and the sheer size of the rose collection within an enclosed space.

Instead of roses, the garden currently hosts an array of summer flowers. In the central areas, there is no patch of bare earth. It’s beautiful.
