When we’re away we often take a look at Atlas Obscura to see what interesting places are nearby. Looking around from Wootton Rivers, I found the Caen Hill Locks and decided we should take a look. The locks looked fantastic on the map, with the clear shapes of the lock gates all in a line—so intriguing! I also love a canal walk, and we knew the walking would be easy.

I hadn’t realised there was also a Diamond Jubilee woodland to explore as well. An extra win.
