Today’s walk: Around Coleton Fishacre and along the SW Coast path
Our final full day in Devon, and I’d started looking at National Trust places to stop at on our way home. One suggestion was Coleton Fishacre, which wasn’t exactly on the way, but the garden looked too good to miss—so we dedicated the day to it. While reading up on the garden, we learned about a gate at the bottom that leads to the South West Coast Path, which has been a recurring theme of our holiday, so it became a clear focus for us. After completing a circuit of the coast and returning to the entrance, we stopped for the obligatory coffee before exploring the garden further and visiting the Royal Geographical Society’s Earth Photo 2024 exhibition, which we found moving and impactful. As we made our way to the garden’s viewpoint, we spotted hammocks and spent a happy quarter of an hour swaying in the breeze, gazing up at the tree canopy.
