I know I said I’d visit Winkworth Arboretum in spring or summer (see my post from last year), but it just didn’t happen.

Today, we checked the website, saw the warning about the busy car park, and decided to park in the woodland a mile or so away instead. We walked to the arboretum from there. That turned out to be a delightful extra, giving us a proper woodland walk first.

It turns out we visited on the exact same date as last year, but this time, the trees were almost bare. I know I’m not the only one who felt like autumn came early this year, but there were still some gorgeous trees and colours to enjoy.
