Today’s walk: An autumnal stroll at Winkworth Arboretum
Today, we visited Winkworth Arboretum and secured the first stamp on the second page of Breezy’s pooch passport. I realised while exploring that I’ve only ever experienced Winkworth in autumn, which is undoubtedly a spectacular season to visit. However, I’ll remind myself to return in spring and see what a different season looks like.
One tree, in particular, caught my attention—it seemed as if it had sneezed, scattering half its leaves in a perfect circle around its base. The effect was fun, describing the size and shape of canopy above.
Another tree put on a striking display, with hues of vibrant green, yellowy-orange, and pinky-red all present at once. I struggled to do justice to its vibrant colors, and I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve let the tree down.
