It’s always great when there’s a good walk we can do straight from the place we’re staying. This time it was a canal-based walk. From our vantage point along the towpath, we spotted ducks, geese, and a heron. We watched it take off, majestic and unhurried.

We managed to make it a circular route, skirting some woodland on the way back. That gave us the chance to spot a muntjac deer and to see and hear buzzards soaring overhead.
