I have seen a few savoury flapjack recipes over the years, and have long considered experimenting. I found this one a while ago and decided to give it a go. I liked the combination of apple and walnuts, and cheese is always a winning ingredient. To score higher with Zoe, I made one substitution, swapping butter for extra virgin olive oil. I also sprinkled a couple of tablespoons of mixed seeds over the top just to add a few more plants to it.

I was a bit concerned about how my brain would feel about savoury flapjacks, but it hasn’t been a problem. They turned out to be a tasty, wholesome snack.
