I had another unsuccessful bake yesterday in my new oven, so I needed a win. I decided to revisit a recipe I first tried last August. It’s from Hugh’s 30 Plants book and allows for a bit of flexibility. It calls for 100g of dried fruit and gives examples but isn’t prescriptive. That meant I could still be creative while staying within the safety of a tried and tested recipe. And it worked out well. Despite the instructions to let it cool before slicing, I had to try a piece with Emmental for breakfast this morning. It’s a success. Hurrah.
