Today’s bake: Crunchy Pistachio Bars
After the success of the Dark chocolate Nut Squares, I found this recipe on the same site and decided to give it a go today. Just like with the other recipe, I think I could probably use a little less maple syrup and still get the nuts to stick together nicely.
I didn’t have ground cardamom on hand, so I grabbed some cardamom pods, crushed them in my pestle and mortar to get the seeds out, and then lightly crushed those. I ended up using about half a teaspoon.
They look really beautiful, with the gorgeous green of the pistachios shining through, glazed with maple syrup. I have a feeling these won’t last long at all!
