Book review: The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Rating: 5 out of 5
What a lovely story - the joy of nature, of gardens, of blue skies, transforming the life of two unhealthy children.
I also enjoyed the Yorkshire dialect element. Being brought up in East Yorkshire, the words and tone used are familiar and bring warmth and comfort. And made me smile.
I know I read it as a child, but I haven’t revisited it in the intervening years. A great place to spend a couple of days.
