Book review: The Natural Health Service: What the Great Outdoors Can Do for Your Mind by Isabel Hardman
Rating: 4 out of 5
Part memoir, part introduction to different activities - from wild swimming to assistance dogs (or peacocks!). I found this readable and interesting though it didn’t show me much that I hadn’t read in other books. A good introduction to opportunities to spend more time in nature.
I enjoyed this thought:
“We view time outdoors as a luxury to save for holidays, not integrate into our working days in the same way as we find time to have lunch or pop to the shops. This is absurd: we are part of nature and we need nature”
