Having recently read the 2nd and the 3rd books of the series, it was useful to read the 1st and see how it was that the Moomins came to be in Moomin Valley. Unlike the other 2 I’ve read, I’ve read this in physical format rather than digital format, and I have to say it was worthwhile. The illustrations are beautiful. It is, however, a much shorter and less involved story than the other two.

Overall, a good and enjoyable introduction, beautifully illustrated.
