Book review: The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods
Rating: 3 out of 5
I liked the idea of this story more than the execution of it. And I’m still left with a few questions at the end of it - I don’t feel that it wrapped up neatly.
There was one moment when my emotions got involved but other than that I read on hoping that if I invested time in it, it would bring me a reward. It didn’t.
This was downloaded for free from Amazon Prime so at least I didn’t have to pay for it. This probably should have been all the reason I needed to have given it up earlier.
Note to self: giving up on a book isn’t a bad thing. Life is short. Your bookshelf is full. If it isn’t working out, move on!
Highlighted passages:
books were more than words on paper; they were portals to other places, other lives.
Something about the memories of buildings and how the walls are infused with them. They never forget, what we, as mere mortals, misplace.
