Rating: 3 out of 5

This is the first book I’ve read in the series, so perhaps I’ve missed out on some context, but I didn’t feel like I really got to know our group of “charity shop detectives.”

Like most books in this genre, the story is a bit preposterous: a group of well-meaning amateurs has to solve a murder that the police seem to have completely disregarded. It was an easy read overall, and I had a few good chuckles along the way. However, it didn’t emotionally engage me or make me feel particularly invested in the characters.
