A memoir that allowed me to do my toes into a different life to my own and yet is set in my city. A sense of locational familiarity provided a good backdrop to a story of adjustments and challenges. I haven’t read any of her other books and so didn’t have any context for her life or for that of her family. A story of hope for us all.
