It may have been somewhat blustery, but it was still warm and pleasant. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a garden on my own. Gardens are usually things I visit with friends. I decided to challenge myself and visit alone.

I enjoyed going where the mood took me, and often just following the paths that had the least people around knowing that over a couple of hours I’d get to experience the gardens in full. I enjoyed spending time enjoying the sculptures, and how some of them were reacting to the grasses blowing around near them. I enjoyed walking along some of the paths where the plants had overgrown a little knowing that I was only responsible for my welfare and didn’t have to consider anyone else. I enjoyed sitting on a log near a pond and watching the water from the irrigation system disturb the surface.

I left with a feeling of calm and a brain that had paused its frantic whirring for a while.
