Whilst in North Yorkshire with a friend we discovered some Alan Titchmarsh books on the shelf in the B&B we were staying in. Neither of us knew he wrote fiction. There were two copies of one of the books so we borrowed one each. I don’t think my friend opened her copy, but I started reading it and found it to be quite pleasant holiday reading, especially as it is set on the Isle of Wight where I’d been just a few weeks earlier. It’s not a deep and meaningful, or life changing novel. But it was nice, and reasonably well written with good characters who I became interested in. Good lazy, holiday reading.
