Book review: Remainders of the Day: More Diaries from The Bookshop, Wigtown by Shaun Bythell
Rating: 4 out of 5
We listened to this as an audiobook on a few long drives. It was a comforting follow-up to the other diaries, with characters we’ve met before and a format that felt familiar.
Each entry starts with the day’s online orders and how many of them could actually be fulfilled. It’s the peril of listing items that are on the shop floor! Books have a habit of wandering from the shelf they’re meant to be on to some totally unrelated corner of the shop.
I enjoyed catching up with the characters we’ve got to know in the previous books. We’ll definitely be paying the bookshop a visit if we’re ever in the area.
