Book review: Ravilious: Wood Engravings (British Wood Engravers) by Eric William Ravilious
Rating: 5 out of 5
I’d never heard of Ravilious until I went to the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne the other week. They have a room featuring some watercolours on the wall and some engraving blocks in the drawers. It was the engravings that I was absorbed by. They’re utterly beautiful. So I bought this book. It has the engravings reproduced beautifully and well-written accompanying text. I imagine I’ll get this book out and look at it time and time again.
