Newark Park
On our way back from our weekend in the Forest of Dean we made use of my National Trust membership and stopped off at Newark Park. The chickens wandering around the lawns were quite a surprise, especially for the dog. The peacock’s appearance was even more unexpected. Skitters wanted to get closer to investigate more! As we walked around, we found a folly - always a fun thing to find - and then found some impressive wooden animals carved into, or out of, tree trunks. I especially liked the wolf.
We found it to be a friendly place to stop off for lunch and a leg stretch with dog-friendly access to the gardens and the estate.
