This was mainly listened to as an audiobook while driving around Wiltshire. I enjoyed listening to the combination of place and time but wasn’t drawn into it. I did enjoy listening to the passion for the subject and about some of the tales of her fellow mudlarks. Maybe it would have worked better for me to have listened to it a chapter at a time, rather than a continuous flow.
