I’m reading children’s books again. This is beautiful. And simply expressed. And being simply expressed makes it all the easier to identify with. There are some sentences in here that made me want to point at them and say “Yes, that!”. I’m not the target audience. And I don’t think I’d suggest it for a child without sadness. But for one who is, it’s a great way to remember that you’re not alone. Other people carry grief and sadness around with them too.

Sometimes I’m sad and I don’t know why. It’s just a cloud that comes along and covers me up. It’s not because Eddie’s gone. It’s not because my Mum’s gone. It’s just because. Maybe it’s because things now aren’t like they were a few years ago. Like my family. It’s not the same as it was a few years ago. So what happens is that there’s a sad place inside me because things aren’t the same
