Book review: Mattie, Milo, and Me: A Memoir by Anne Abel
Rating: 5 out of 5
This is a story about love, specifically the kind of love you have for a dog.
I’m on my second rescue dog now. I didn’t get a new one as quickly as Anne found Milo after Mattie, but I completely understand the need for a distraction and the longing for a new friend to love. This one has been more challenging in some ways, but definitely not on a ‘Milo level’ challenging! Anne’s persistence and determination with him was so impressive. Anne described her experiences beautifully.
Right now, my own lovely little rescue terrier is curled up resting on my legs as I write this. Every now and then, I have to stop and stroke her chocolate brown, velvety ears.
