My first Poldark book after having watched the BBC dramatisation which covers the first two. When I was growing up the full set stood in the divider in the hallway of my family home - they were the set that went with the earlier BBC dramatisation. Anyway I never read them but thought I’d give it a try. It was well written but the characters paled in comparison to the TV series. And I didn’t find it as page turning as I need a story to be at the moment. Probably won’t read the rest of the series. But I will watch it :-)
