Book review: Invisible Women: Exposing Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Pérez
Rating: 5 out of 5
I listened to this as an audiobook. It was read to me by the author.
This book is interesting, frustrating and infuriating. Well worth a read or listen to, regardless of what gender you identify as. Some of the facts discussed made my skin crawl, some made me facepalm, and some are hopeful - peace lasts longer if women are signatories on peace agreements (see https://www.unwomen.org/en/what-we-do/peace-and-security/facts-and-figures for more on that). The fact that there is still such a large gender data gap puts women at risk every day doing everyday things - driving in cars that are safety checked using a male crash test dummy being one of the more blindingly obvious.
If you identify as female, are married to a female, are friends with a female, or even were born to a female then you should read this.
