I’m not sure where I first came across it, but I’ve been following Mike Sheridan’s blog for a while now. I love that amongst the posts about his beautiful upholstery work, there are also posts about his guerilla upholsey. These are when he reupholsters old dining room chairs and other such items and puts them into bus shelters near his home to make them more comfortable and welcoming.

Yesterday I found this BBC video. In it Mike talks about why he does it, and how he came to start it. And one of the things that I really liked hearing him talk about is that he is having fun doing the thing that used to be his hobby and is now his profession. This gives him permission to do something a bit different. I like that.
