A friend had tickets to go to the opera at Glyndebourne this summer. That’s unable to happen because of the current situation. Instead, Glyndebourne have opened their gardens up, and, as a ticket holder, she got an invite. She asked me to go with her. There were quite a few people around, but they’d staggered the arrival times, so there weren’t any queues. They’d even made the parking socially-distanced.

It was a sunny day. My friend’s husband had paid for us to have an afternoon tea. So we had a lovely time walking around the beautiful garden enjoying the peace and tranquillity and tucking into our hamper. An opportunity to relax and unwind and temporarily, at least, forget about the ‘current situation’.
