Rating: 3 out of 5

I learnt of this book via a weavers blog, and was intrigued by the idea of a weaving mill related mystery novel. Unfortunately, the characters and story let down a nice description about mills in the 1910s and 1920s. I didn’t really engage with any of the characters, and didn’t really care what happened to them. The story itself is fine, reasonably well thought out and with clues to the final solution subtly located within the story. All in all, a nice enough tale but I won’t be hunting down others in the series

Highlighted passage:

A photographer’s eye sharpens memory from a vague or hazy recollection to a clear image of an everlasting moment.
