Friday afternoon found me at the Cute exhibition at Somerset house with a friend. It covers some traditionally cute things - like the cat photos of Brighton photographer, Harry Pointer from the 1870s, and Hello Kitty (including a Hello Kitty disco with huge disco ball complete with playlist. But it also includes some darker pieces - like a film with cute characters being cut with a knife. My friend rightly pointed out that maybe some form of content warning, or advisory warning on some of the pieces would have been good to see - there were some small children staring at videos that didn’t seem age appropriate/

Quite a strange exhibition which has mainly left me quite perplexed. I’m guessing I’m not the target audience but then again I’m not sure who is.
