Book review: Confessions of a Recovering Data Collector by Ellie Harrison
Rating: 4 out of 5
I bought this as a result of hearing Ellie speak at The Story 2012 and being amazed by the extreme obsessiveness of her data collecting activities. This book is mainly a catalogue of the art projects she made out of that data. Most of which were physical and displayed in galleries or public spaces. A nice analogue to a digital pursuit and fascinating to read. It starts with a mock therapy section exploring her reasons for stopping which is fun but, in my opinion, unnecessary. Lovely and enjoyable
