What an achievement - running 5000 miles around the coast of the UK in 10 months! Such an impressive feat.

But that’s not necessarily what I took from the book, that’s what I take from sitting back and thinking about the achievement.

I found the book a bit repetitive - the reading but almost certainly the running as well. The kindness of people shines through - people who hosted Elise, people who she met along the way. The other thing that shines through is Elise’s lack of organisation - mainly the not being able to read a map thing and using Google maps to plot routes when we have the incredible OS maps here in the UK.

I didn’t necessarily get a feeling for the coastlines, for the differences each area brought. Which I think is what I was hoping for.
