On Thursday evening, we drove to Shoreham Port to experience a Brighton Festival event, Ray Lee: Points of Departure. The audience was asked to maintain social distancing and to wear masks. And most people did.

I got a little emotional at the beginning thinking how wonderful it was to be out in the real world experiencing art.

Our performance, promenade, experience, whatever it was started at 9pm. The final bit of sunlight was leaving the sky as we began, and we had the beautiful blue night sky by the end. Perfect timing, I think.

The surroundings, and the cold night, lent themselves to making the experience quite menacing at some points, with the strange sounds enhancing the science-fiction style display from the structures and lights.

It is worth a visit.
