Book review: Bookworm: A Memoir of Childhood Reading by Lucy Mangan
Rating: 4 out of 5
I’m not a bookworm. Nor have I ever been. Or at least, not if I compare myself with Lucy Mangan. Yes I read a lot. Yes I can still be found in a corner of a room reading something. But I missed a lot of the books she read. There were some I read that she didn’t mention - all the Swallows and Amazons books for instance - but there are plenty she lists for me to investigate and maybe catch up on. I daren’t look to see how many samples I’ve sent to my kindle!
Highlighted passage:
You can’t wear out a book’s patience
