An afternoon in SE23
I decided to combine a bit of culture with a visit to a friend. Unfortunately, the bit of culture came to nothing due to the Horniman being closed on Wednesdays until April. But I did have a good explore of the grounds before heading off in search of a folly I found mentioned on atlas obscura. It was in Sydenham hill wood, and I had a good, if slightly muddy, tramp around the nature reserve before heading off in search of tea, cake and my friend.
Despite not spending the afternoon how I’d expected, I had a good exploration and spent time somewhere different and unknown to me. And I then got to spend the late afternoon and early evening with my friend. A good use of an afternoon.
