I spent the weekend in Chichester with a friend as an early celebration for my forthcoming 50th birthday. It was a beautiful spring weekend to be out and about exploring. We’d both visited before, but neither of us had stayed there. The main reason for being in that area was to be able to walk along the Chichester Canal. We are both keen walkers, and we’d stumbled across an article saying that walking alongside canals was lovely. So my friend planned the weekend around this.

As well as the walk, which was Saturday’s focus, we also had a nice walk along the City Wall, a mooch around Pallant House Gallery (both of us were particularly taken with the Masterpieces in miniature: The 2021 Model Art Gallery), and around Bishop’s Palace Gardens. And we ate some fine food at Purchases, Pallant House, Shake-o-Delic, Lime Squeezy, and breakfasts at the hotel.
