A typical William Boyd novel in terms of descriptions and putting the reader into the situation. I’m not sure I’ve read another where I’ve felt so ambivalent about the characters - none of them are particularly likeable and some are just awful. Well written to make me feel that way I appreciate. Not the best of the William Boyd’s.
