The Hambleton Hut

The Hambleton Hut was a gorgeous place to stay for a couple of days.

It’s a cleverly converted shipping container.

It had the right combination of seclusion and simplicity without giving up on the basics. It has running water, a plumbed-in bathroom, a gas hob, a log burner, and outside there was a gas barbecue. It’s technically ‘off-grid’ so has no mains electricity but is powered by solar and has several usb charging slots. We had no problems.

From the cabin windows, all I could see were trees and the occasional bunny, or ground-dwelling bird. Overnight, it was peaceful.

It was a perfect place for a couple of days — I felt relaxed there, and I really didn’t want to leave.
