Flickr: Most Interesting
When reading the
flickr blog earlier I spotted a
beautiful penguin photo, amongst a post about tomorrow (Sunday 15th June) being
Nature Photography Day, and being a penguin fan I took a closer look.

Weddings...
I've had the pleasure to attend 2 weddings in the last 3 weeks. On both occasions I was a guest with a camera, and so having read the chapters on weddings in both
40 Digital SLR Techniques and
The Digital Photography Book I was ready to take my chances and see what I could get.
The first wedding was
Sarah and Mat. Part way through the speeches Millie (their little girl) found her reflection in the bar and I managed to get this photo. I managed to get it processed and printed out before we headed home the following day and so framed it and gave it to them as an extra wedding present.
The second wedding was Ash and Mitul. I haven't finished processing the wedding photos yet, but I have managed to work my way through the
pre-wedding Dinner photos. The wedding itself was bright and colourful - with lots of sari's and other indian outfits on display, so I'm looking forward to seeing what I've captured.

Paper Crane Project
One of the lovely things about
flickr are the strange and lovely ideas people come up with. A few months ago there was a mention on the
flickr blog about the
Paper Crane Project.
The project was for
Liz to make 1000 paper cranes and distribute them around the world. All I had to do was email Liz and wait patiently. My crane arrived a week or so ago, and when the weather improves she'll be going on a photo shoot around Brighton. I've added this photo to the
group but it won't be the one that is printed out and posted back to Liz.

Flickr Pro
Last week I upgraded
my Flickr account to be a
pro member. I'm planning on making more use of flickr to put up images that I don't really know what else to do with - like the ones I link to from the blogs, or for photos of various events, like the
Sussex Geek Dinner, or
Brighton Bloggers meetups.
I'm using the
Flickr Uploader tool for the Mac and finding that is working for me pretty well, but as usual recommendations of other tools are always welcome.
